I heard that one/some of the new Toshiba sets were going to use discrete codes but it may have been their new LCOS model.

WOW...you sure are certain and definite in your wrongness!!

There is an extensive post on Toshiba Cinema Series Discrete located elsewhere in this forum.

Although they are not TRULY discreets, they are psuedo-discretes. And since the original question was about the VIDEO inputs, and NOT the power commands (which they are working on) here is the right answer to the question.

On all Cinema Series from about mid 2001 on, if you press the input button on the remote, it brings up a list of the available inputs. If you press the number next to the input you want, it takes you straight to the input OR you can continue to hit the input button. SO...if you need to program a remote with a discrete, this is what you would do:

1. Press "input"
2. List pops up in pickish/purple color on screen
3. Using the number keys, press the number that corresponds with the input you need.

Programmed as a macro on ANY macro capable remote, this can occur very quickly.

for more information see thise strings:

as for the power discretes...go to this file, right here on Remote Central:

I'm still unclear as to why theses RPTV's would be on the Toad List.
