Trying to set up a denon avr4802 on an amx controller..not having luck...how can one test serial control functionality on this receiver just to tell it is working..can you plug it to a pc..etc???

Go to the Denon website. There is a PDF file that shows the pin configuration for the rs-232 conection.
If you want to e-mail me, I can send it to you as an enclosure. It may say you need a custom cable. I just got the AVR-4802 and will need to look into this also.
