I find it hard to belive that none of the main stream a/v receiver mfg. have a zone 2 component out.. I thought the denon avr2807 had it when i saw 2 component out terminals, but shocked to see they are only for the main zone.. Wouldn't it be great to have a product like the denon with all of there discrete commands have a dedicated zone 2 componet out to go with all the flat panels we are installing...Think of the possibilities.

What you are looking for is a 2 output matrix switch. If you move all your switching outboard, you might be able to step down in the level of AVReceiver required, saving enough that the cost of the matrix is covered.

We have a couple products that can help:

Email or call and I can give you more details.

Nice Bill! I am fairly new to matrix switchers. Are they reliable with IR systems such as URC or should I learn RTI or get a Crestron programmer.

I have an application coming up soon that would require a 4-8 inputs and 15-20 outputs (bar). 4 cable/sat boxes to say 15 TV's. Ideally every TV would be independant in its source selection.... that is to say that if display #2 switched to sat #4 I wouldnt want display #10 to switch also. Audio is most likely handled with something like the ZR-8630 from Niles.

Control is still undecides.

Learn the RTI just because you should. A matrix switcher is just another device to be controlled.
When good enough is not good enough.

Control with IR, RS-232, and even USB. Some of the lower end URC stuff can introduce glitches in the IR, so with it's one way nature, can be less than reliable. Having said that, our IR is reliable as anyone elses.
RS232 is obviously a better way to go and is faster as well.

I saw your other post about the bar system. Sounds like fun. Hopefully we can talk about that on the phone.
