I have a pretty good library of .wav files that I use for RTI remotes, which have a much higher tolerance of .wav files in all sizes. Being that Pronto needs the .wav files 44MHZ mono, and these are in stereo at probably a greater MHZ, I want to know if anyone knows of the best/easiest .wav editor to use for this operation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PS - would prefer shareware, but not opposed to buying it. Thanks, Vincent

Have you googled? I personally don't use sound files that often as they are NOT stored in the XCF. That is, whenever you deliver an XCF, you MUST be prepared to deliver the 'Sounds' folder from the Editor's folder/directory. If you do not, any sound action for which the sound file is missing will be stripped from the config upon load.

[...] A fairly good free audio editor is Audacity, available from: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ For batch conversions, a command line tool might be more convenient, such as "sox" (also free software), available from: http://sox.sourceforge.net/

Have you tried the Windows built-in SoundRecorder? You can open each .wav then store it back out using the PCM 44.1 kHz, 16 Bit, Mono format. This works but if you have a lot of files it could become tedious as you have to save each file individually. And Lyndel is very correct about sending the files with the xcf in the "Sounds" directory when you add them to your configuration, so be careful! Normally this will be the C:\Program Files\Philips\ProntoEdit Professional\Sounds directory.

I don't mind sending over the directory and sound files, it's just that my sound effects are garbled. I have a very good selection, some that say return, lighting control, all activitys, watch bluray, etc... This client feels "reassured" when he hears feedback.

Hi, I managed to get one .WAV file to sound OK, using Windows Sound Recorder and saving with the details above. This was using PEP1. As my config is in PEP2 now, it appears that there isn't the same sound directory, that you were previously able to save the files in? Can anyone think of a way around this? Cheers, Lee
