After two years trouble-free work with my TSU9600, today when I try to download my file xcf to my remote, on my screen show up message: THE FILE TO BE DOWNLOADED EXCEEDS THE SIZE OF THE LIMIT PRONTO! Size of my file is 39,9 Mb from 60 Mb available in memory of remote.I work on PEP2 with VISTA HOME PREMIUM.I'd try to reset the remote and computer but nothings change. Is someone know how to resolve the problem.I'm not a professional though I have Certifikate 1 and I program only for my own needs.Thank's for answers.
Regards from Poland.DAREK

The size of the XCF has little bearing on the size of the actual file downloaded to the Pronto.

The XCF file is a zip file with images and an XML file that gets converted to a binary file prior to download. To see what the real size of the file is, look in the simulator or data folder (where you installed the software) during simulator or a download to see the real size.

If you are using .jpg or .bmp files in your configuration, as these are always downloaded in bitmap/raster format, consider converting them to .png as the download size is typically ALWAYS smaller. Also, in the absence of converting to .PNG, consider decreasing the color depth some of your images to 64 or 32k from true color as the 24bit format.

I think, that this is not a problem with a size of xcf file - I'll try explain what's wrong. In my 'head file xcf' XCF DAREK 1 (44 113 947) before the problem I'd change in 'wheather prontoscript module' letter's size and add on page five buttons (jump to another activity). When I try download to my remote after 79% the process is interrupt.Right now in XCF DAREK 1 I save WHEATER PRONTOSCRIPT MODULE (right click and save in prontoscript)Close XCF DAREK1 and open XCF DAREK 1 COPY(create a few days ago,44 113 947)When I try download to my remote - success 100%, everything works correctly include the 'wheater prontoscript module',without changed. Now in XCF DAREK 1 COPY I add ' wheater prontoscript module' to changed for XCF DAREK 1and when I try download to my remote it;s show up this same message ,,THE FILE TO BE DOWNLOADED EXCEEDS THE SIZE OF THE LIMIT PRONTO!".Next step, I delete 'wheater prontoscript module' and each exactly this same change like in XCF DAREK 1 which I bring in to XCF DAREK 1 COPY in 'wheater prontoscript module' ,so it's just changes of letter's size plus five buttons (jump to another activity).XCF FILE it's download correctly. The problem is resolve but only because I have backup of my xcf file. Thanks for all.

You added 5 buttons? If so, your additions to the configuration caused the downloaded file to be too large. Did you examine the sizes of the files that are being downloaded to the remote (the .bin file and NOT the .xcf file) as I outlined above.

I got a somewhat similar problem with one of my TSU9600 (I got 4). My xcf downloads fine to my other panels. I reinstalled the firmware which worked but I can't even download the sample config to my panel, it always hangs in the 80-90 % range.

Smaller files are working fine.

I have no idea what to do

Do all 4 units have same firmware?

I would recommend seeing the Philips FAQ and doing a "complete" firmware upgrade and trying again.

If that does not work, maybe send it in for Service to http://www.servicewidetech.com.

They all have the same firmware. I even reinstalled the firmware on the faulty unit with no problem. I can download small configs but the sample config does not download nor my own xcf

Do a "complete" firmware update (requires holding Firm2,3,4 during reboot - see Philips FAQ) in case there are some log files or other info that need to be reset. Then, try again.
