Hello world! I've done some development in the last few month, and I think this may be interesting for some of you, especially in Europe. I've finished some software standard to communicate bi-directional with the KNX bus. This bus system is "the world's only open STANDARD for home and building control" (KNX slogan ;-) In the meantime more than 150 companies joined to the KNX association - like ABB, Siemens, Schneider... The software I was working on is using an IP-KNX Gateway. This means you don't have to invest into an extender. There is a nice module called "KNX IP BAOS 770", see [Link: weinzierl.de]. This is an object server that works directly on the Application Layer - which means, the registers you write or read on can be assigned directly in the ETS Software to group addresses. I have no problem to share the basic software, which may be used for lighting control. Please see my (german) website www.bleucommazur.com. If you are interested in the xcf, send me a personal email. Have fun!

It looks interesting. I didn't have to program any EIB/ KNX yet, but we have some projects were another company does that. I don't know how (RS232 or IP), but IP directly is always better i think. That "KNX IP BAOS 770" module we didn't have in stock (i just asked), else i could tested it. But i'll follow this tread!

Hi Kevin, I think until today there are about 25 KNX installations running with Pronto and the Weinzierl IP gate. Send me a personal mail, and you will get the XCF and documentation. To my opinion this is the a better way to communicate with KNX than the two examples on the Philips professional web : 1) This 2way communication is NOT using RS232 -> you don't even need an extender. 2) You configure the "Pronto - KNX" objects as usual with your ETS software. The Gate is not writing directly on KNX gropup adresses -> the bus traffic stays absolutely transparent.

Hello Chris, I'am located in the Neherlands and I'am verry interested in your KNX IP module. Please send me the XCF file. I'am now working with an RS-232 module for KNX. I've your solution is better, we will change it. Were selling a lot of KNX systems and looking for a easy and stable solutions for Pronto. gr, Ben van Unen

Hello, Christian! I'm interested in your KNX IP BAOS 770 module. Our engineer, George, communicated with you recently and bought one KNX IP BAOS 770. You've sent him the .xcf example for controlling 1-bit and 1-byte lighting objects. Now he has some questions to you, so on behalf of him I'll ask them here. 1. Is it possible to control 2-byte temperature objects with your module? Can you give us some recomendations about it or send an example? 2. In your example there're 7 buttons on the page. Is it the upper limit of button's quaintity? If no, how many buttons can we use? 3. Will you be interested to make some KNX projects to order for us? I mean development of the software for KNX IP BAOS 770. Yours faithfully,

Hello Dimitriy, Thanks for your message. @1) I have complete KNX regulator xcf available, where you may - control set points - view real values - switch different regulator modes (absent, comfort, night, freezeprotect) - switch speed of fan coil - switch between heating and cooling function As every KNX regulator has it's special features, it would be good if I knew which one you are using @2) You may (almost) use as many switch buttons and analog sliders as you like - the limits is given by the screen size. You may just copy the pages for using more elements. @3) Yes, thanks for your request, I will do development for KNX interfacing, send me a personal e-mail (best with your phone number) Best Regards

Hello, Christian! Thanks for your reply, it was very useful. Now we are trying to control underfloor heating and air conditioners. We set setpoints on room sensors, control underfloor heating via Siemens N258 and air conditioners via Beckhoff BC9020. Can you send us your latest KNX regulator in .xcf? If posiible, on [email protected]. Yours faithfully,
