Hi,

I'm setting up a TSU9600 with an Arcam MS250 Media Server and every time the TSU9600 goes to sleep I lose the connection with the MS250. Basically the player page information is left where it was when the screen went to sleep, I can't control the MS250 and when going back to the browser page, there is no information when selecting album, artist, etc.

I can regain control of the MS250 if I navigate back to my home page and go back into it.

I think I've put it down the the 9600's wireless connection switching off with the LCD.

I've left the battery and wi-fi indicators visible on the home page of the program and notice that when I pick the remote up and activate the screen, the wi-fi meter is struck out for a split second and then comes back to life; I've got no problems with it logging back onto the network and it's been running with an RFX9600 perfectly for almost a week now!

I had the wireless timeout set to 2 hours and have now set it to 24 hours with the same results, and my LCD time out is 20 seconds.

Oh, I've literally installed firmware version 4.0.17 and after scanning a couple of the posts, not sure whether I should have done.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

I've just checked with the TSU9600 left in the cradle and it's fine; the wi-fi doesn't seem to drop out.

Is there something I'm missing here?!

I know with the Escient, he has to search a few seconds and than he finds where he was.
Also did the update to the last firmware this morning, but didn't tested it yet.....
that will be for next week.

I did hope that it would be the case, but unfortunately it just doesn't reconnect.

When docked, the script and the remote never sleeps (screen is off but Wifi will always try to keep connected).

Undocked, is a different story. Is the Arcam Activity using one of the Built-In Media Server devices with possibly PadOne?

I'm not familiar with this but it is highly likely you will lose your place upon a Wifi disconnect.

I can verify that writing all the code to handle random wifi disconnects while connected to a media server is non-trivial. There is a significant amount of code in the slimserver activity to handle the cases of sleep and wifi disconnect. I am a little proud that I have never seen it not recover state no matter what has happened. But then again, . . .

In other work I have done dealing with a PC over TCPIP which controls my HT via RS232 and IR; and with a PC running the Homeseer Home automation system I have very similar code operating. In the theater case I just get ack/nak back as the PC controlling the theater does all of the heavy lifting.

In the homeseer case I get anything from ack/nak for simple commands to screen loads of data for movies, HVAC control Pool control, etc.

It is possible to bulletproof a Pronto fairly well, but only time, use and relating of experience will tell.

Hi Lyndel & Barry,

Thanks for the replies.

Firstly, this is my first real experience of the extra functionality of the TSU9600 over (UK) RU960 & 990, so am building up my knowledge...

I've not been able to speak to the techincal guys at Arcam yet, but the module they have written looks identical to the Imerge/Escient module within Pronto Edit.

I'm hopefully going to be able to speak to the relevant people at Arcam on Monday and will find out more.

In the meantime, many thanks for your comments.
