RFX9400 and TSU9600 and codesets too!

I have a new TSU9600 and RFX9400 to boot. So.. I am excited.. but annoyed! I have tried to get the TSU to talk to the RFX via standalone mode. Had the ID set to 1, the switch set to Standalone, started a brand new configuration file in PEdit professional and set it to be standalone mode for an RFX9400, downloaded the config yet there are no busy lights on the RFX when I hit any of the buttons.. so .. stand alone mode doesnt seem to be working.

Problem 2: I tried WI-FI as well. I know that the remote gets an IP address - can see that on both the remote screen and from my router. I can see that the RFX gets an address - solid green light on the RFX as well as it appearing in my "attached devices" on the router (which is a Netgear WGR614V7). When I change the configs in PEdit pro to reflect wifi, I still cannot get any signals to be picked up by the RFX. At this point, I am thinking the RFX is stuffed.

I tested the pronto in sending straight IR commands to a device and it can do that just fine.

So... which person out there has experienced this and can help??

Another question too... how do you know which of the codesets to use when looking in the factory database if the model number of your device is not listed but only a codeset is? I cannot seem to find any references to codesets in my manuals?? Is there a tricky way to establish the right codeset?

Thanks in advance!

Ronnie

1. Are you seeing a "Connecting" message on your 9600? When you press a button and it fails to transmit, you should see a "Command Failed" message. It usually takes a while to connect after downloading a configuration. I often have to turn both the RFX9400 and the 9600 off and on to get a connection.

3. Just try them all until you get one that works. It is also very easy to learn the codes yourself.

OK .. I solved the problem. The issue was that I had not set the device properties with the RFX as the output source. Once I did that and made sure we were on the same ID.. all has been great.

Cheers
