I'm trying to get my new 9600 to work with my Tivo Series 3. The factory database has a gazillion Tivo entries, none of them names "series 3." So, I made a new entry in My Database and fast learned the codes off the remote. None of them work. They all got recorded in SuperHex format, even though I didn't specify that. I tried relearning them one at a time, still no luck.

Has anyone figured out which factory database code set works with a series 3?

It's really a pain to figure out which code set to use for the TiVo from the factory database.

I recommend you just look at the companion Pronto NG forum here. Find a PCF for the TSU-7x00 that has a TiVo Series 3, download and import it to your 9600. You can then use the codes and discard the rest (or keep it if you like!).

TiVo supports 3 different remote codes. They do this in case folks have more than one TiVo in the same room, so that each TiVo can be controlled individually. Most of the TiVo codes you'll run into are probably the default remote code #0. You can configure a TiVo to respond to remote code #1 or #2 instead (this is documented in the TiVo manual). As mentioned by Jeff, the Pronto NG section of Remote Central has TiVo codes. Chances are, most of them are the default remote code #0. I also have the codes for remote code #1 and #2 in case you need them (PM me with your email if you need them). My TiVo Series 3 works fine with my TSU9400 (although I am having trouble with its codes if I go through my RFX9600, as I mentioned here: [Link: remotecentral.com] ).
