One of the remote controls I have does not have the “discrete” IR codes for the video inputs such as Vid1, Vid2, etc … However there is a device in the My Database section of the ProntoEdit Professional that does contain the discrete codes for the video inputs. However I am shying away from using the My Database section because of the way I prefer to build my configurations and based on some advice from other users on the forum. So I am just curious if there is a way for me to get that IR codes from the database?

Thanks,
-Jason

If it says Internal or DATABASE CODE, then, even if you could see the data, it is NOT the regular Pronto Hex Format, nor is it the Raw Format.

I've dug deep inside the database using over-the-counter tools and I'm very sorry to report this. My suggestion is to look for your codes here:

If you can't find them, for future reference, it would help all of us if you would post the type, manufacturer, and model of the device as quite a few posters on this site are familiar with whether or not discrete codes are available for various types of equipment.

Lyndel,

Thank you very much. And since it does read as "DATABASE CODE" I guess I am out of luck from that standpoint. Since I have a TSU7000 and now a TSU9400 would this be possible.
1) Teach one of the remotes the internal database that I cannot see.
2) Set the other remote to "learn" the code from the other remote that is blasting the database code that I am not able to see.
3) Hopefully voila, I can now assign that code to a button, which would then be visible in a hex format. Or so at least I think in theory.

I am going to give that a shot. Can you think of any problems with that?

You had mentioned that I should list the equipment for which I am looking for the discrete codes. It is an Hitachi 55HDS69 Plasma TV. I am not sure if you wanted me to post that in a particular area or not, so just let me know if you would like me to post it somewhere else. I would be more than happy too. Again thank you very much for your response.

Any codes that you put in, you can get out.

To be a bit clearer, the hex codes for any learned codes as opposed to internal database codes that are added to My Database are always fully accessible.

You cannot see the hex codes for internal database codes.

Try the 2 55HD* models by importing the PCF and testing from here:
