Last Christmas she gave me the RC9800i by mistake, and could not return it. (junk)
This Christmas she gave me the tsu9600. Yeh!

OK, today is the first chance to play with it.

So, before I really get started any advise on how to rescale tsu7000 graphics? Or perhaps some beginner advise in general where to begin. I have an extensive 7000 pcf (probably 100+ windows).

So rescale is the question.
Thank you,

EDIT: Well, Lowpro's advise of using photoshop indicates a complete rebuild effectively. Wouldn't it be nice though if Philips provided a natural import path for pcf files with a scaling option to at least have the unit functional such that we could rebuild it a little at a time.

Unit is functional but you will have to use stylus. You are better off re-engineering your graphics for a landscape footprint anyway.

FYI, Philips is NOT in the graphic business. IMO, To suggest that they provide a scaler is really not practical and would have driven up the cost of the remote significantly as you can never get this exactly right. That's why they did not even try.

Welcome to the 9600. You will absolutely love the screen....

Lyndel,
I have forgotten how to export graphics and images from a PCF file (or now XCF). Although the editor allows export to a GEF file, you cannot edit the buttons in Photoshop. In the past I have done exports to a general directory but have forgotten how and have now searched for an hour and cannot find the post. Do you remember how to do this?
Thanks,

You can either use the Button/Panel properties to save an image or you can see the NG FAQ for comments on using Winzip/WinRAR to unpack the config file. Once unpacked, you will have a file named ConfigEdit.xml and a Bitmaps folder.

Thanks, .xcl -> .zip with extract also works! Great! Now to write a PS routine.

EDIT: After a day of messing with Photoshop, there is a way to do a mass 2x image sizing in PS7, although it does not work all that well. For those who wish to skip the hours of messing around this is what I found.

Place all of your bitmaps in one folder. Yes they may be of different sizes. Then make another folder for the results. Open one file in PS. Go to window, select Action. Create a new action. Use the Save for Web command, select 200% in the Image Tab region and do not forget to Apply. Then Save to the new directory (two steps). Now stop recording the action. Select now this action in File->automate->batch being careful to check the Override action save as command.

Only one problem as I saw it. I have 1500+ pngs (by the way it does not work on bmps) and it only converts about 300 of them. I am researching this problem and think it is a RAM allocation issue. More later.
