Ok on my old remote for my AUX system there was one button for on and one for off, however I am having some issues. I want there just to be one button to turn it on and off. I can only get it to do one or both where it turns on then immediatly turns on after.

You can use ProntoScript to maintain state in a variable and then, based upon contents of the variable, use Widget.executeActions() to send either the On or Off IR code.

It's not a one-liner.

No, you should read through the ProntoScript Developers guide and start from there. If you know Javascript, the content should be somewhat familiar. If you don't, you've got a rather steep learning curve to overcome.

There's more that you will have to do. You will likely also be using System.getGlobal()/setGlobal().

In a pronto PRO it is an XCF not a ccf. They are quite different in structure.

No, there is no way to upload the contents of the Pronto back to a PC.

Its ok i just did it all again... Ok I have been reading this code manual or whatever it is called, and this is way over my head. The xml comment confused me even more. Is there a premade code anywhere that I can just download? I dont think I can create it by myself. I still cant even find my TV and DVD IRC codes...

Soggydoughnuts,

Is there a reason that you want this type of ON/OFF? Most of us would prefer your current arrangement.

Look through the Pronto database, you may be able to find a "power toggle" for your device.

If you don't want to learn ProntoScript, create a copy of the device and your home page. One copy of the pages will be used when the device is ON and the other set will be used when the device is OFF. From the ON set of pages, pressing Power will issue an OFF command and jump to the OFF series of pages. From the OFF set of pages, pressing Power will issue an ON command and jump to the ON series of pages.

This approach may be more straight forward for you than ProntoScript.

Thanks buzz! I think I will be able to set that up.

Now if only I could find my TV IR Codes...

Soggydoughnuts,

I didn't think completely through my reply above. You'll need two copies of every device that references the DVD player or the Home page that jumps to the DVD player. Otherwise, you could return to the wrong home page from another device.

I think you'll find that this strategy is fragile and annoying because you'll need to modify two sets of pages for each little update.

Is there a reason that you don't want separate ON and OFF buttons? It is mostly personal perference, but I'm sure that many of us have considered resorting to a similar scheme (on older Prontos) to create separate ON and OFF buttons. I'm not critizing, it's your Pronto, I'm just curious.
