I have purchased the padone server and there is virtually no help file. After the Padone is installed...then what?

The Philips website shows a beautiful screen with the 9600 showing the padone in action. Is this available as a download to the pronto?

Run the PadOne software (it should display an icon in your task bar).
You will also need Windows Media Player installed if you are not using Windows Media Center Edition.

In your configuration file, add a Windows Media Center device by choosing it from the top toolbar.
Bring up the device properties for the Windows Media Center device, and specify either an IP Address or Hostname for the PC with the PadOne software installed.

Make sure you also specify your network settings for the remote.

The screen will only become active once you have downloaded to the pronto.

I have been using Padone for some time now and it works fairly well. One recommendation is to back up your playlists (which appear in the playlist folder of your music library) as the system has a tendancy to delete them every once in a while!!

Here is some info from other threads that might help....

You need to have the latest firmware installed for the remote, otherwise the Windows Media Center device won't work. The latest firmware update can be found here. All you need to do is make sure the remote is docked in the cradle which is connected to the computer, launch the firmware update file and follow the on-screen prompts. Also, make sure you did not forget to setup the remote to use Wi-Fi per my instructions here.

Few things to make sure you are doing ...

1) When configuring the Windows Media Center device in PEP make sure to use the IP address of your PC if it uses a static IP. If it's a dynamic IP you need to use the PC's host name/computer name.

2) Make sure that ports 8918 and 8919 are not blocked by your firewall if you have one in place. Check any software/hardware firewalls that you may have. In my wireless router I'm forwarding both of these ports to my PC's IP address just to be on the safe side. Already have a different PC on my network set up in the DMZ.

3) After launching the PadOne application you need to also launch Windows Media Center or Windows Media Player based on which version of the PadOne software you are running. I'm currently running the WMP version of the PadOne software which works better for me. Performance is clearly more sluggish when I go with MCE.
