I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to show coverart (you know, those small bitmaps showing the front cover of your CD/album) on the Pronto.

I think i should be able to get the bitmap data into the pronto, but then? Don't know how to go from there...

Any hints or tips are welcome.

Robert.

You mean the plugin for Homeseer, right?
Well, i don't use Homeseer, i'm doing all coding myself, but at least i know it's possible now. That's a start ;-)

Well, then just tell me why hd-tec (see Chak's reply) doesn't need this new release to display coverart? I'm assuming their product doesn't work in a way where you have to embed all coverart into the xcf to be able to display them... ;-)

Fun thing is also the select wheel is working in MCE plugin.
You can very easy select the songs

I think hd-tec is working for Philips and they have more inside info about the possibilities.

There is special code that was installed for the escient servers and the like. It is not available in the general release for use by protoscript. End of discussion. It is not there for general use period. End of story.

They will.

However, to use such capability, you will have to know and understand the HTTP protocol as ProntoScript only provides you TCP sockets, not an HTTP client. If you have written any ProntoScript already to access web pages, then you likely understand how to move forward.

I'm very curious what 2008 will bring... :-)

Although i'm quite new to the Pronto (worked with it for 20 hours or so) i helped someone with reading a traffic jam RSS feed, and i wrote a small script with which i can send commands to a TCP server (for controlling X10 devices with my HA app). So that should be ok.

Actually i'm more worried about creating a nice looking UI; that's not really my favorite thing :-(
