Hi,
do somebody know something about the range of the wifi unit of the 9600, especially in combination with the rfx9600?

The RFX9600 does not have wifi receiving capabilities. It is setup as a component on the network and the access point for the network is what is communicating with the TSU9600. Wifi range is determined by the remote and the access point being used. The basic extender, the RFX9400, does have the option of being a standalone wifi receiver or a network component however.

Most Wi-Fi vendors state 90 feet or so and is dependent on how many walls, etc. Take a look a the Linksys documentation for the WRT54GS and the WAP54. That has a wealth of information about ranges.
