In my older Prontos, there was a Device icon at the top that let me move out of the present page/activity and go to pages where I could go to control pages for actual devices in my system, without activating an activities macro, and then jump back to the place I started.
For example, I'm watching my DVR, but want to adjust access some more obscure setting in my TV/display (or setting on the AVR) and then return to the activity pages I was in before. How do you do this on the 9600 (without putting pages for every device in my system withing every activity? Thanks, Marc

There is none. That's why in the out of the box xcf, there's a tray area to the left. You can create icons and place them into the Tray Area.

This design moves away from the Device-oriented config to more of a Task-oriented config.

You can add a device button on the system page, which opens a devices page and hold a button that does special action Browse Backwards. Add device pages to that page that also have a button that does Browse Backwards. (or add the Browse Backwards button to the hard buttons so you only have to add it once)

I'm sorry, but I'm pretty new at this. Would you mind elaborating more on the details of this. Thanks, Marc

HI Marc,

The other solution, which I just put into a client config, is to add a page under the home page and call it devices. On this page put icons to each of your devices and a jump to the most likely page you may need to adjust.

On the Home page and on the Devices page, add the page tabs to the top, so you can move between home and the Devices page.

Lastly, within each of your devices, add a hardbutton command to go back to the landing pages you most likely just came from, so you can go back. ie, SAT, DVD, etc.

For example, you are watching a DVD and currently on the DVD transport page. Go to Home and choose the Devices tab. If you wanted to go to a TV page with functions on it, press the TV icon. This will jump to the TV page where you may change the aspect ratio. Put a hardbutton on this TV page, to get you back to the main DVD transport page.

In lieu of a fixed hard button to jump back to the DVD transport page, the Browse backward command may also do the same thing, without knowing where you came from. I have not completely experimented with it yet.

Lastly, there are the page backgrounds which have the "vertical tray" on the left side. You could put icons here for each device and jump to the device for adjustments, using the method outlined above.

Also, your RFX9600 should be here soon. My distributor says they are shipping.

Hope this helps - Dave
