Hi, I have to look for a remote, that should control (among others) a Bose Lifestyle by RF and a Lutron Light system (Homeworks) also by RF. As I understand the specs of the Pronto9600, I need an HF-Extender unit like SBCL1910. Can anybody confirm, wheather this is correct? Would it be better to use the SBCRU990 remote, as it can transmit IR and RF? Thanks for your help! Christian

The 9600 does NOT do RF. It communicates to the Extenders using WiFi. It cannot use the RF Extenders used by earlier Pronto models.

Hi Peter, thank you for this quick answer.
In the user manual I read, that the Lutron system may be controlled through WiFi by the Pronto serial extender.
However, is there really no way to use the TSU9600 for remoting the Bose Lifestyle System? In other words: How can I convert a Pronto IR signal to a RF signal for Bose?

I don't believe that any Pronto model can control RF Bose systems. Do a search for Bose in the Pronto NG and Pronto Classic fortums.

FWIW, some Lifestyle systems like the 48 can accept an IR controller. I hae that activated to control my Bose.

Yes, you need to change the Bose system to use IR. It is in one of the menus. The Lifestyle 28, 38, 48 and possibly the Bose 1-2-3 can all be changed to be controlled by IR.
Most of the Lutron systems will work with straight IR. Should all be in the database. The Radio RA is a special Lutron system which uses RF to control the switches. The Pronto cannot control it directly. You have to use a convuluted combination of the the RFX9600 via serial to a Lutron device which takes RS-232 and changes it to the RF the Radio RA needs.
