As per title - is there a way to execute a page jump when the remote is picked up?

Yes, it can be done but not based on pickup sensor, but rather based on screen coming on. Curious as to your use case though.

You'd have to use ProntoScript and add code to every activity where you want this behavior (or use a System level script) to register a callback for Activity.onWake, and when your function is called , you'd find the widget with the jump and execute or schedule the actions of that widget.

Every time the screen goes off, Pronto will call a registered callback for Activity.onSleep. When screen comes on, it will call a registered callback for Activity.onWake.

Do you want behavior to be same for all activities such that you always jump to a specific page or does it vary based on activity?

Consider that you using remote to 'tweak' receiver settings and are on that page doing a trial listen to something. Screen goes off and then you pick up to change a setting. When it comes back on, it might jump you to another page. IMO, that would be really annoying.

Hi Lyndel that sounds great, it would be per activity - so just a script in the activity that says when I pick up the remote display a page of a different activity.

Display a page or jump to a page?

What is the purpose? This makes no sense to me. Are you attempting to do something like a slideshow?

Its a copy of the same page but in a different activity. Long story but its basically so it does a refresh so each time I pick it up it ping pongs between the 2 pages.

Please elaborate with your long story.

Why does it need to jump between 2 activities? Why not just add script to do whatever refresh you need via the Activity.onWake and stay in the same activity?

Yep that would work - could you show me an example of how I can use Activity.onWake?
