Could someone help a newbie get the Sonos module working? I've got V2.02 installed, I've dragged it to a new activity but when I launch it on my TSU9400 it doesn't do anything, just says Itemtemplate and underneath that Itemtemplate(selected). I'm connected via wireless to the same network as Sonos.

I tried the SONOS controller module immediately after is was released. While the module is an excellent example of programming and I learned a lot while picking through it, it's functionality was very limited. Plus the module is huge (about 6000 lines of code) and runs so slowly that, in my opinion, it is impractical to use. You may be satisfied with hacking the module a bit to use basic transport functions such as Play/Pause/Volume. That said SONOS changed their protocols a bit over the years. I don't know if the PRONTO module is capable of operating the SONOS. I know that the original SONOS hardware controllers have limited function because of this.

It is possible that the module is somewhat functional, but you are not waiting long enough for commands to execute. Be prepared to wait many, many seconds.

No it doesn’t seem to do anything at all - it should start looking for zone players shouldn’t it?

Sorry, I don’t remember all of the details. I’m not sure if it can discover players. If not, you need to define them. Also, the controller was developed before bonding of stereo pairs was a feature. If you are attempting to control a pair, the left speaker is the “coordinator”. Try sending your commands to the coordinator.

Sorted it by updating the firmware on the Pronto - but yes it is rubbish!
