Hi there,

maybe someone can help me or has a hint for me:

Im still using my Pronto TSU9600 and it still works fine...

After changing my TV i had to update my Pronto Config an that worked well.
I connected the Pronto directly via USB to my Win10-Desktop PC and deactivated several HIDs, so the Pronto-Download worked fine with PEP1 and PEP3.

After updating the Config i probably made a mistake:
=> i uninstalled PEP2 and
=> i updated the Firmware of the Pronto to the Version 7.3.3

Now the Pronto is still recognized by the PC, but i cant download my again updated config to the Pronto.
There is an Error coming up:

ProntoEdit Professional cannot find a compatible Pronto connected. Please check the Connection.

The Connection hasnt changed and i already tried a other USB-cable.
Has anybody a hint for me how to manage the download again?

I already uninstalled and installed the PEP-Versions (1, 2 and 3), but the behavior is exactly as before.
I tried to up- or downgrade the Firmware by using the Firmware-Upgrade-exe, but theres an Errormessage telling me there is no connection possible.
Of course the Pronto ist fully charged.

What i didnt tried yet is a fuly Reset of the Pronto. I fear, i cant upload my config afterwards and so i cant use the Pronto anymore.
Because the Pronto yet works well (but not with the latest config).
Maybe someone has a hint for me or had the same problem and could solve it.

P.S.: Sorry for my english, i am german...

Every once in a great while my Windows 7 computer doesn't see that my TSU9600 is connected. I just reset the remote which resolves the issue. Not a full reset. Just a basic reset. (Page Up+Home+Menu) Give it a try if you haven't already done so.

You also did not mention if you are connecting USB Cable directly to the TSU9600 or going through the Docking Station. Try connecting both ways if you have a Micro USB B cable. Finally, when installing PEP2 a 2nd time, did you run the installer using Administrator (Elevated) Priviledges?

Hi Lyndel McGee,
thank you for your reply too. The TSU9600 is directly connected to the PC, not via the Docking Station.
Using the Docking Station is worth a try.
Thanks for the hint!

By the way:
I installed PEP1 and PEP3 on my business Notebook (Dell Win10 Latitude 7490) and connected the Pronto.
And it worked "out of the box". I didnt even had to deactivate HIDs. Strange thing.
So i could download the latest File to the Pronto but of course i want to establish the connection via my PC again. I will try it via the Docking Station and maybe reinstall the PEP-Software once again, if the Docking-Station isnt the solution.
=> The Problem has no high priority anymore, cause i have a workaround, but i still want to fix it.

You will likely have to use RegEdit to remove all the HID devices and anything related to Pronto after uninstalling all releases of PEP. Not sure if there is anything here on this site discussing this. Might search for regedit in the Pro forum to see if there are any hits. I know I put up a thread in the NG forum that was with regard to the TSU7000 driver reinstall. Looking at that thread might give you some good hints on what to look for in RegEdit.

Please also note that there is an installer that lingers around that you will also have to remove via the registry. It is a fake item called ‘support’ or something like that. Have a look at Programs and Features and you will likely find it.

Hi Lyndel,
once again thank your for your hints and help.
After uninstalling the several PEP-Versions i used CCleaner to "clean up" the Registry, but it seems it didnt help.
I will search for the thread you mentioned, but there is also a Plan B to me: a friend of mine has my old WinXP-Netbook (Samsung NC10) and he will give it back to me. Plan is to reinstall a "clean" Windows and only PEP as Software. So i can "redo" my Configs on my normal PC/Notebook and download/transfer it to the Pronto via the Netbook (if that works).
Using my normal PC is still Plan A, but if this doesnt work in near future, Plan B will become Plan A ;-)

Best regards, Christoph

Not sure a tool like CCCleaner will work. You pretty much need to search your registry for the word pronto.

then i will search the registry for "pronto" and will delete all the pronto-keys.
We will see.
I will post a update during the next week.

Next Update:
I received my old Samsung Netbook with WinXP SP3 and on that "oldtimer" everything works fine. Therefor i will use the Netbook for transferng the Config onto the Pronto.
Next step is trying to clean up my Registry on my Desktop-PC.
