Hi all, I've been a Pronto fan/user for a long time, starting with a TSU3000 many years ago. I've since strayed from the path and after several unsatisfying forays with Logitech remotes, I decided I needed to get back into Prontos. On eBay I ended up buying a package of remotes - a couple of TSU9600s, one TSU9400 and one TSU9300, plus a bunch of accessories (wifi extenders etc.). I've got a pretty simple set up so I set about programming the 9600 in PEP3, but try as I might, I just don't seem to be able to get it to work very well. Some commands work, others don't. I've tried learning commands off various old remotes and sending the command thru a FLIRC, but still no success. I'm running a Win10 HTPC and mostly operating MediaPortal and occasionally Kodi. Essentially the remote just needs to mimic the appropriate keyboard commands to control these programs. I really want to get one of these remotes up and running so that I can get rid of the Logitech Elite. Is anyone able to provide some help in the programming? I'm happy to pay, and I'm happy to provide the work that I've done so far on the mxcf file. Cheers, Wyatt.

The mxcf side implies using PEP 3?

Correct. Should I be using a different version?

PEP3 was released only as beta and does have some memory leaks that can cause file corruption. If you use it, save often and to different file names.
That being said, PEP3 brought about functionality to keep multiple XCF configurations in a single file, zip files (1+ XCF files) within a single zip file (MXCF). The second piece of functionality that was delivered was something called Overlays which were specifically designed to support firm keys on the in wall TSX9500 which does not have hard keys under the screen.
Unless you need to use overlays, I'd recommend you going back to PEP2.4.
To do this, you can simply 'export' your current config to a PEP2.4 compliant version using File->Export if I recall correctly.
This being said, one reason you may be having issues with remotes is that Windows Media Center uses an IR code format that by default requires toggle bits. If you would like to turn that off and give it a try, I would recommend searching the Pronto Pro Next Generation (Pronto NG) forum for the keyword 'debounce'. There used to be a windows registry setting that will disable toggle bits.
For multiple key combinations such as Ctrl + Alt + Home, for example or Shift + a for "A", you may find that you cannot learn these as you like.
One final note from me. Only the TSU9600 and the TSU9400 support ProntoScript (Javascript with Pronto Extensions). The TSU9300 does not.

Thanks Lyndel. I'll look into what you've advised.
