Hi - I have recently been purchasing some new electronics.

Back when I used a TSU-7500, there was a useful utility called IR Panels.

IR Panels would take a Pronto IR string, and then create 255 buttons in a Pronto CCF file that would have a button assigned to every possible code for a device.

All the hidden IR functions would become available with IR Panels.

Is there an equivalent utility that I can use with my TSU-9600?

Thanks,

Alan

Google for and check out a program named IRScrutinizer. It does have a learning curve but will generate a CCF or PCF for you.

Found it!

Yeah, IRScrutinizer looks like it's going to be a bit more complicated than a "Paste Pronto Hex" + Press "Generate CCF". :-)

I'll start to dig in ...

It really is a superior tool once you learn how to use it.

You will want to see the Export Pane.

Note that the files are put into your temp folder (IIRC) in Windows which may take a bit of searching to find.

I used it to reverse-engineer Bryston IR Protocol to find codes for various equipment. For example, I knew the standard function number for power off so I simply used IRScrutinzer to generate a CCF/PCF with all 256 possible device IDs (usually you know the device ID and then generate 256 functions).

Once I found the button (with specific Device ID) that turned off my BDA-2 DAC, I then I went back and regenerated a CCF/PCF with functions 0-255 for the Device ID I had located.
