Hi there, well the battery in my remote is slowly getting worse. I have seen a few threads mentioning higher capacity batteries. Can anyone please advise me where I can purchase the best batteries for my remote? I am located in Australia but I would assume that I can purchase from almost anywhere.

With battery technology improving from what it was from when the remote was released I also figured that there may be something better that could be used rather than the original stock battery.

Just a side note, I was looking for the new "king" of remotes & could not really see anything that was up to scratch with the Pronto Pro. Has anything of note been released? Finally I won't be purchasing any other remote as I managed to purchase a new Pronto Pro today that had never been used!

So I will replace the batteries in the old remote, if there is something newer & better in relation to batteries would it be worth putting them into the new unit? I would guess no but thought that I would ask.

Chinese batteries from Ebay. You might reach out to GoPronto to see if he has any sources in New Zealand.

Excuse my ignorance but has the battery technology changed since it was released & is there anyone who has installed a 3000mAh replacement battery & noticed any improvements or issues?

This listing states that it is compatible & the price is pretty good...

Unfortunately, each battery technology requires a specific charger design. Replacing the current battery with a "new improved" battery could result in a fire as the existing charger abuses the replacement battery.

That is a valid point, I wonder if anyone has installed the higher capacity battery & noticed much of an improvement?

The Cameron Sino 2100 or 2200mah LiIon batteries work best. I have like 5 spares.

Where is the best place to get them? Do you have the exact model no? Why are they so much better?

Ebay US site.

The pronto team actually used them for replacement. The 2100mah spec is the same as was in the original pronto. That's why I said work best. I have been using them for the past few years myself.
