remote appears to function normally but it isn't outputting IR.
Any suggestions?

Are you using PEP1 or PEP2? Did you by chance configure the activity (PEP1) or a Component (PEP2) to use an IR port of an extender?

If you did do this, you should see something like 'Command Failed' when you press a button and it does not contact the extender.
