I just wanted to let anyone who may be interested in updating the graphics on their Pronto remotes know that a new template named Aleera is now available. The new design contains the most up to date collection of activity icons, channel presets (10 countries), and specialty buttons for smart TVs / Blu-ray players, cable sat DVRs, media players and more. There are also virtual remotes for AppleTV, Amazon Fire, Roku, NowTV, and Prima Cinema.

I included a sample file that you can run in the simulator or upload directly to your remote to see how the UI was intended to work, but you can still change it however you like by moving buttons from the system page etc..

Here is a direct link to the new page: [Link: blackmancustoms.com]

A full set of screenshots is available if you click the binoculars image above the purchase link, but here are a few I just took from the various pages.

If there is sufficient interest in this template, I will create a version tailored specifically for the 9300/9400 as well.

If you have any questions, just let me know.

This would be the layout for the 9400. I set up a few basic pages to see how everything fits in place.

It needs a few tweaks on the text etc.. but this is what the end result would look like.

Thanks so much. I realize the market for this is extremely limited, but I really wanted to see this through to the end. I am going to borrow some of the ideas I used on this for other manufacturers templates as well.

Any remotes that have hard buttons for UDLR navigation and a touch screen really don't need a redundant set of them on the screen itself, which is why I replaced them with the four colored buttons with text options for shortcuts that most products use these days.

Same goes for the 9400 concept. Since I eliminated the UDLR on the touch screen, I decided to put the colored buttons on the transport controls page.

I had forgotten so much about PEP, it was kind of fun to jump back in a figure all of that out again. The 9400 requires a different way of thinking. They want you to use graphics that are twice the size needed for a 240 x 320 screen, but I am using native resolution. That means I have to manually type in the image sizes in properties when creating the initial design.

All sorts of strange things start happening when you use 2X graphics on the 9400 but the pixel height or width is an odd number. PEP rounds down to the nearest whole number and the graphics that are supposed to line up... don't.

Only one. So, it looks like the 9300 / 9400 resolution template will be taken out of the queue. It's OK though, I really wanted to see this through to the end when I decided to start the project.

I'll probably leave the Pronto Aleera page up through December, however, and it was still fun to re-learn PEP all over again. These remotes have so much potential.

The 9600 / 9800 template is starting to pick up a little steam.... Someone may have posted the news on a Pronto forum for me as interest in the last few days has spiked. I may actually go ahead and work on the 9300 / 9400 after I wrap up a couple things for the new year.

Just keeping everyone posted.

Thanks, and have a happy new year.

The TSU-9600 template is available right now. I am not going to create a 9400 version, however.

Hey All, it's time to revamp my website and bring an era to an end for a few automation systems. I'll be pulling all of the old legacy product pages down in the next 30 days or so. Pronto, AMX, iRule / OnControls, Ness Genie, HAI, and a couple of others.

The Pronto page is not indexed in the browse templates menu anymore, but here is a direct shortcut to the page. I reduced the price from $99 to $29, and it will remain until the page is removed.

Glad to see the Pronto community has stayed up and running this long. I have a lot of fond memories, and still have a few older Prontos stashed away in a storage bin somewhere.

I will still check in here and respond if anyone has any questions, and if you already have the Pronto Aleera template and require any additional icons etc.. don't hesitate to ask. Been doing this for 15 years, and will probably be doing it for another 15.

They look great, have bought a copy to have a fiddle with. I think I am more likely to 'steal' elements from the graphics gallery than use wholesale, but they are great-looking.
