Hi I'm having issues trying to learn some nec codes to tsu9400 When button is pressed (direction keys) cursor moves twice also learns as 2 different codes but both behave the same. If I press the button very quickly when learning it give me a shorteh code ,But this code works ok ie only moves once but if held will not scroll Any ideas

These are simple unclean learns. The first one is OK (NEC1 4/90), the second one has a copy of the repeat tucked onto the intro sequence, the third one is simply too short and invalid.
You can use IrScrutinizer to "cleanse" the signals.

When learning, also make sure to wait until the remote show that it is ready to learn. Do not rely on software dialog as indication learning is active. Once the remote screen changes, at this point, press and hold the button on the remote you are trying to learn.
As buzz states, these are unclean learns likely resulting from not waiting until the remote indicates it is ready to learn.

Tries to learn these codes about 20 times and it always results in the same three codes, Waiting longer seems to have no impact. If I learn the codes on a £15 learning remote they work ok.
Could you please clean that code up for me so I can check if that fixes the issue

Hi thanks Unfortunately that code is also a double press. The remote is from an old TV/DVD, I used this as a remote to control KODI on openelec as it had so many buttons it allowed me to map it as a keyboard. The remote looks like this [Link: amazon.co.uk]Andy

So you aren't trying to control the original device with those codes or that remote, but Kodi. The code is correct, so there must be a bug in the way your 9400 handles it.
Since you can apparently use any arbitrary codes, why not simply try a different set, like MCE? They are a bit more robust since they have a toggle bit built in.

Thanks Will try a different remote. The built in ir on the openelec box (wetek core) only handles nec codes so might also look at an ir receiver.
