Hello all. I'm new to this forum and would appreciate any assistance here.
I just purchase a Marantz RC9001 remote and a RX8001 extender. I've updated the firmware on both from the Marantz website and am using the Wizz.it.EX software to config the remote. My problem: I can not get the extender to pass any signals to the emitters for my Marantz amp. I'm starting out simple here and trying to set up in "ad hoc" stand alone mode. The remote display shows connectivity with the extender with the "tower" symbol with the letters "RF" over it. I am under the impression that no configuration is required using the cross cable for "stand alone" mode and that all I need to do is make sure the remote and extender share the same ID and RF channel. When I execute a command, I'm not getting any activity on the "busy" led on the extender. I understand that the remote communicates to the extender by WIFI (carrier) for the RF to be converted to IR for the emitters. The remote will operate my Marantz amp with IR but will not work using the emitters on the RX8001 extender. My equipment is all rack mount away from the Home Theater. I'm worried that there might be an issue with the remote! Thank you.
