Hello to Members:

Recently, I acquired a TSU9400 and a TSU9600. Both remotes have their current setup and background which I would like to delete completely and start with a very basic setup. Your kindness and consideration to educate me how to reprogram/setup my remotes are greatly appreciated(I am a old school and have very little knowledge about software/application):

1. Can I delete all existing settings and background display from previous owner?

2. Just a basic setup, what I need to do from starting to ending(I found, downloaded and saved the ProntoEdit in my Notebook today)

3. Can TSU9400 and TSU9600 learn from any original remote as same as TSU6000/TSU7500?

Again, many thanks in advance for your help.

Best Regards,
Mauty

Hi Buzz,

I read a couple of times for both TSU9400 and TSU9600 manuals, but didn't see any setup menu like TSU7500(TSU7500 on settings menu allows a label, learn etc…, but not found on TSU9400/9600?).

I can access to a settings menu on TSU9400/9600 to do learning from an original remote? Your help is really appreciated.

Best Regards,
Mauty

For 9400/9600, you must learn with software. There is no way to 'upload' a configuration from the remote so you should take extra care to 'archive' your software assets because, if lost, you have no way to recover like you did on the NG series.

The TSU6000/7500 were made for the consumers in mind. Where they could either hire someone to program the remotes, or do it themselves. With or with out a computer.

Where as the TSU9400/9600 were only sold by custom installers. As they were, originally, the only ones with the software to program the remotes. So everything had to be done on the computer for these two remotes. Now that Philips backed out of the Pronto remote business several years ago. They released the Pronto Pro Edit software to our website here. Any one can download and program their own 9400/9600 remotes. But you should be comfortable with programming, even for the basic stuff. I personally had this 9400 remote for a few years and still don't know Pronto Script. I do have basic knowledge to get it up and running though.
