Hello,

I used to have an Elan via dj II, but a few weeks ago it stopped working.

It was perfectly integrated into my pronto system ( playlist , album or song selection) directly on the pronto.

I may replace it with 2 or 3 Sonos connect as it seems to be the perfect replacement but I was wondering if it is possible to integrate it into my pronto system ( 9400 and 9800 with rfx9400 and 9600)

Does anyone here is using Sonos with his pronto ? Is there something I should be aware off ? I would love to have feedback and recommendations if anyone has done such a thing.

Thanks a lot,

Jeremy

If you dig around, you can find a Sonos package for Pronto.

In my opinion it was only a proof of concept, not a finished package. The fundamental issue is that the Pronto hardware is too limited and user interaction is crude and glacially slow. I kicked the tires for an hour or so and moved on.

Sonos is easily controlled with a free and polished pad or phone controller.

Over the years, Sonos has made a few under the hood changes and the Pronto package has not been updated. I don't know if the Pronto Sonos controller will do much.

Note that I'm not trying to be mean in the above post, only realistic. The actual code is very slick and one can learn a lot by studying the code. The original release was for the 9600 screen layout. It was a 6000 line program and so well organized that I was able to pick through it and reformat the screens for a 9400 in the first evening.
