Hello there,
Just got a used TSU9400. Is the back suppose to be sticky, like intentional for better grip?
TIA

they can become sticky, if the lady of the house uses hand cream it seem to make the coating go sticky, get yourself some IPA ( isopropanol alcohol) and wipe down the remote , 2 things can happen depending on what hand cream has been used. either it will be come less sticky or the rubber coating will be completely removed and you will be left with the silver plastic.

Even using glass cleaner will make it sticky.
I bought a "perfect condition" 9400 a few years ago. Well apparently the seller sent me the wrong one, because the one that I received looked like it came from the ocean. Due to the sand all over the place, even the chrome wheel would not spin. When I took it apart, there were sand all over the place.
After many hours of cleaning it, inside and out. It started to work great. Here it is a few year later and I run into problems every several months. So I have to take it apart again.
Nevertheless, the back was sticky at first. Though I used denatured alcohol, something YOU do NOT want to use. As it stripped the paint off, so I am down to the bare plastic. As long as it functions, I don't care myself.

Thanks for your responses. I used some WD40 and it didn't do anything, funny coating, it's all over the back not just at spots, at least the front where it matters is decent. Will see, may strip it down at some point, sand and re-paint.
Now how get get my NEO .ncf codes over the EASY way...

Getting NEO codes over may be difficult as I think the NEO may not have used regular pronto hex.

Worst case scenario, if the codes cannot be obtained via any other method, it's possible to convert the NEO file to a Marantz RC3200 file, which DOES display all codes in normal Pronto hex.
But, there is no automatic conversion or easy import possible - you're looking at a cut-and-paste job.
