Hi guys, I would really appreciate some help here...
I just bought a Pronto 950, so far so good, can't find the codes for the audio gear I'm using, nothing works - I've tried the files on the site...

My gear is as follows:
Philips FA950 Audio Amplifier
Philips CD930 CD Player
LG Flat 32LC41 TV

Could someone please point me to a place where I could find these codes, as I am totally new to programming smart remotes, and have no idea where to start? Or maybe someone has a config file for such gear already?
PS: I do not own the original remotes to the gear, nor do I own compatible ones.

Many thanks in advance guys, and all the best!!

Andrei

First off, welcome.

Most manufacturers use the same IR codeset with different functions mapped to different buttons depending on the model of the equipment.

The easiest place to find codes will be in Device CCF files from the Classic Pronto. Upon download and unzip, you must use File->Import CCF from the Editor.

You may then find other codes in the Next Gen File Section Here.

You can open these files natively with ProntoProEditNG or ProntoEditNG editor.

As the remote you have is a Next Generation remote and the forum for that remote is here:

If you cannot find codes that work from either of these 2 links, post back to the NG forum and I'm sure someone can assist.

Hi Lyndel,

Many thanks for the warm welcome!

I have tried the links, thank you very much, but to not much avail.
I must admit, I don't really understand the whole concept of programming these remotes yet (which is weird, I've been working in IT for 17 years now :D ).

I will try on the other forum, and will read more in parallel.

Live long and prosper!

You can get a good feel for the software and concepts by downloading and reading the ProntoEdit 4.3 manual from the Classic Pronto Files Section.

I realize that that software is not what you would normally use, but the concepts are there.

There was another PDF that used to be for sale by Dave D'Arche out of California called 'The Ultimate Pronto Guide'. You might be able to find it online somewhere. This guide was designed at the the time of the NG software's livelihood.
