Hi...I have a new Nevo sl...and using it with the Nevo LInk.

the pros the the Nevo in my mind is the wi-fi function....anyone have any opinions to which will be a better remote?

Nevo is missing the RF functionality.

I have both, and the 9600 with a fireball is much much better. I have an HTPC with nevoserver on it and a fireball as well. The Pronto has a much better interface, is faster, has a long battery life, and connects in three seconds or less. My nevo and nevomedia/server/player are cool, but the interface is a bit clunky and slow, and requires refreshing from time to time. The 9600/fireball realtionship is much more solid.

I have not received my wifi receiver for the 9600 yet but the interface with the fireball is wifi and it is fast.

The 9600 does not have RF capability. It uses WiFi to talk to the Extender.

nope winni. A remote that has RF capabilities won't talk to it either. The RF of those remotes are only used to their extenders then converted back to IR to shoot at a remotely located device. If you want to control a remotely located PC, you'll either have to use the OEM remote, or buy a IR sensor for the pc, and get either a wifi or rf extender for the universal that you choose, depending on the technology they use. I thought about remotely locating my pc, but as often as you have to reboot it, and not able to ctrl/alt/del it, you'd get frustrated walking to it.
It's not just a hobby, it's an obsession...
