Hi

I am new to this forum but have been using three TSU9200's for 5-6 years. I have been successful in the past to get them to learn codes from a BeoVison Avant, EyeTV, WDHD Live, and three generations of DVR/STB's. So not a neophyte but not a sophisticated user either.

Yesterday I had the new X1 system from Xfinity installed. From digging around in several forums I understand that the XG1-P DVR is the Pace PX001ANM and the two STB's are PR150NMB's. I had the technician leave all the remotes unpaired so that are working in the IR mode and not the RF mode. I have tried the learn function in Pronto Configurator. Each button is "successfully" learned and transfer to the TSU9200 itself is also successful. However there is no response from either the DVR or STB boxes.

My questions are:

Is there something I else I need to do in the Pronto Configurator other than the default settings for learning the IR codes?

Is there somewhere I can get TSU9200 compatible codes that I either import into my database or possible cut and paste the necessary ir codes into the Pronto Configurator database?

Thanks for any and all help

Best

skshimer,

Learning these codes has been frustrating the pros because the IR codes are longer than expected. I haven't come across a set of codes that have been completely satisfactory.

You should experiment with the code repeats.

Thanks buzz. I may be in over my head, but what are code repeats?

Poking through all the forums I have been almost completed a working setup for my TSU9200 and RFX9200 extenders with the new Comcast equipment. I used the hex codes for the RNG200 supplied by Jasonvp (a huge thank-you). See link below. I used the Digits 0-9 without the repeat code and all the other relevant functions using the provided codes. The two PR150NMB's work well with this setup using the RFX9200.

For the Pace PX001ANM I had to set the durations for the digits 0-9 in both the database and the favorites selection to their minimum values.  If not I would get double digits; 804 became 880044. All the other funtions I left at the default duration in the database.  This works well for all functions when using the TSU9200 directly aimed at the PX001ANM.  However when I use the RFX9200 extender blaster or IR buds everything works except the numbers.  Once again I get double digits; 804 becomes 880044.

Is there some way to change the duration of the IR extender?  Any other suggestions?

Thanks to everyone for contributing to this forum.

A Pronto Hex code starts like this.

0000 006D 00xx 00yy

The 0000 is a signature for Raw Code format. The 006D is the timing identifier. the 00xx is the number of one-shot pairs (in hexadecimal) of IR code data. The 00yy is the number of repeating pairs of IR code data. A pair is 2 sets of 4 digits with IR timing data. For example, 000F 0020

If you are so lucky to have a code that starts like this, it will repeat if button is pressed and held.

0000 006D 0000 0012

To make it be a one-shot code, simply change the locations of the counts.

0000 006D 0012 0000

While this may not be ideal, it often works, especially if you tinker with the IR Code duration.

For more info on what I just did or more background, you might want to see Barry Gordon's user document on Pronto Hex IR Format in the Classic Pronto Files Section. Barry has done a very nice job explaining the format.

And, a read through this will also help you better follow Buzz's earlier suggestion about repeats.

Thanks Lyndel

All of this helps a lot. I will try your suggestions on the code and use the reference material to get a better understanding of how to solve these problems.

Following the suggestions of Lyndel I edited all the HEX codes for the digits 0-9 to be one shot codes. I changed the database duration to 0.1 and the delay between digits for the favorites channels to 0.2. Works like a charm.

I also now have a better understanding of the Pronto coding scheme and will try to tackle a couple of other projects I had previously shied away from.

Thanks for all the help
