Hi everyone,

i'm a long-time Pronto user, but a newbie in terms of RFX/WiFi.
I recently setup the above-mentioned components and everything works just fine.
Everything but this: After a certain period of time (say one night) somehow the connection between TSU and RFX gets lost, meaning: When after one night of inactivity (or longer) I push the button with the "System Start" macro on the TSU, it says "not executed" and nothing happens.
After, say, 10 seconds I push it again and everything works.
Seems like either the TSU or the WiFi-router (I'm using a seperate one just for the "Pronto Network" from Netgear) or the RFX (or all of them) shuts down into some kind of standby mode.
I already set the timeout of the TSU9400 to "24 hours" in PEP3.0, but no change.
I also checked my router's settings for some kind of "power saving" mode I hoped to find and deactivate, but negative, no such thing shows up there.
Any idea where the problem could be located and how I could resolve it?
Thanks in advance!

Greets

It's a WiFi modem-router (not connected to the internet) with wireless b/g/n and WEP encryption.
I'm using fixed IPs (DHCP off, WiFi router is 192.168.0.1, RFX ist .2, TSU is .3) and also defined the exact WiFi channel (Channel 5) in PEP, as well as in the router's menu.

try setting the AP/Router to wireless G only.

you could also try using Pronto edit programm v2 as V3 is still in Beta.

It's set to b/g (no "g-only" option available).
I tried to tinker with PEP some more and now selected "scan for hotspots every 15 minuten" now.
I'll see if that solves anything...

doing the scan every 15 minutes might cause you other issues, if that fixes your issue then YEA :)

but i think you might want to go back to basic's, set the DHCP on your router back on again, set up WIFI setting in the pronto back to default and back to DHCP no fixed ip address with no encryption and PEP2 and see that works...

Well, indeed it fixed nothing, the problem remains.
You think it might be DHCP or encryption responsible?
My sentiment is, that it might be the router itself, shifting into some kind of power save mode you can't deactivate.
I do not think PEP3 is the problem - it just programs the settings into the devices after all and they seem conveyed correctly.
Are there perhaps specific router models people here recommend?
I could still switch to another router model poeple here have made good experiences with...

My other WiFi Router (the one for my home network, which is connected to the internet) has a menu-option to display which channels are busy.
Channel 5 is completely free, so there should be no interference.
Turning encryption off might be an option, although I wouldn't favor it.
Will try it nevertheless tonight, thanks for the hint.

3 if I remember correctly (I'm currently at work, so I can't check).
But definitely "far away" enough, so it shouldn't interfere.

you need to have at least 4 chanels free between each AP so in your place use channels 1, 6 and 13, or 3 and 8

Concerning 4 free channels between the APs: Not possible I'm afraid, because my neighborhood is quite "busy" in terms of WiFi hotspots - most channels are in use somehow.

But concerning the WiFi cutoff:
IT WORKS NOW - THANKS A LOT, GUYS!!
Turning off encryption and going back to DHCP really solved the issue - I kept channel 5 though, which turned out okay.
Strange - why isn't it possible to keep encryption on?
If I only had ONE network, which were also connected to the web, I'd have a security issue now...

for your encryption , i bet you were using a phrase, if you use a HEX key it will work :)
