I have a Lutron wall light switch that is IR controlled. My Pronto TSU 3000 is able to learn the code, but with the 9600, I can get it to learn the code but not activate the switch. When getting the 9600 to learn the command, the screen shows a bunch of codes being accepted and it tells me the code was successfully learned.

I have tried varying durations, from .1 to 2 seconds.

The wall switch has an IR remote and that is what I have used to program the remotes.

Is there something else I need to do with the 9600 that I did not need to do with the 3000 to get the switch to work?

(The switch is about 4 years old and I bought it at Home Depot. So it is nothing special. But has worked well.)

Thanks,

The .ccf files did not work when I imported them.

There has to be a way to thech the Pronto how to learn from the Lutron remote so that the switch understands it. I works on the 3000.

Any other suggestions?

Zephyr007,

I do not know the series, but will give the commands a try tonight. Thanks for the info.

I still do not understand why the 3000 can learn from the Lutron remote and work and the 9600 can't.

Well, this is getting a bit frustrating. No luck with those codes either. Here is what I have tried.

1. Learning from the supplied remote.
2. Tom's recommendation to use the codes from the Lutron site.
3. Varying the times in the learn function.
4. Using the codes Derek supplied.
5. Using the TSU 3000 and learning from it.

What I have been doing is what it says on page 61 of the manual. I select the icon for learning an IR code. Select "Custom IR COde". Select "Raw Learn", then learn IR. I get a successful.

What the heck am I missing or doing wrong?

Ok this may seem obvious but are you sure the remote or extender is outputing IR for the specified device? (IE your lighting page) That is to say out the front of the remote or the proper numbered emitter?

The best way to test this btw is to use some form of a digital camera/camcorder. Pretty much any cell phone camera/digital camera/or camcorder will pick up the IR flashes. Just hold it in front of the emitter and run the command. If it flashes at least you know something is comming out of the LED.

I've programmed nearly a thousand pronto based remotes and this still catches me out from time to time. I have forgotten to uncheck the extender or specified the wrong port. It happens.

I spent time this past weekend and did get this to work.

I took created a page, put a dozen buttos on it and learned commands from a Lexicon controller.

Although the program reported the IR code was learned, not all the buttons worked.

The problem was that because of my impatience, I would press the sending remote more than once. I believe the 9600 records more than command. Then it plays back one long string, and the receiving device does not understand the command.

I went back and made sure I only pressed the command once and got the buttons to work correctly from the Lexicon controller.

I also got the Lutron to work correctly. In the window of the Learn IR page, you can see that there is far less data this time for the Lutron than I had before.

It seems like the 9600 can take a couple of seconds to register the sent command before it gives you feedback that it did learn the command. So only send the command once.

This may not be the case, but it did work for me.

I appreciate all the suggestions, thanks for helping me through this.
