Hi,

I'm new with all the protoscript and java programming and I was looking for a method to shutdown my Synology NAS with the TSU9400.
I found that the synology should accept the following telnet command for shutting down:
plink root@IP_ADDRESS-pw PASSWORD poweroff

But how should I send such info with the socket commands?

Any idea someone?

Should be as simple as.... connecting a TCPSocket to NAS on port 23 (Telnet) and write the string above.

P.S. Javascript (ProntoScript) and Java are 2 separate languages but are often confused with one another due to similiarities in the language.

Well, it is not this string that will turn off the diskstation. I only could find, that one has to dialog on the telnet port to login etc....

But for those who are interested, I've included this functionality in my general script that allows to control PC equipment through IP :
- Turn on your PC/NAS using "Wake On Lan"
- Start any program on your PC and get the feed back if it is running (e.g. Mediacenter)
- Turn PC to "Standby", "Suspend to disc" or "Off"
- Turn NAS "Off"
This functionality may be used on any of your Pronto pages and with your personal designed buttons. On the PC JAVA has to be installed and a small server program has to be started.

If you want to give it a try, just send me a PM.
