Hello Everyone,

I've just downloaded the latest firmware for my TSU 9600 and TSU 9800, and I'm asking myself if I will download them to my remotes.
The reason is simple, I see these firmwares are still BETA versions, and due to the fact that Pronto is now gone for good, if there's any problem, I won't get any "official" support for this.
If I get it right, the only thing important this firmware version brings with it is that we are able to use overlay pages.

So, my questions are the following ones :
1. If I download firmware v7.4.22 and it brings some issues, can I downgrade to v7.3.3 ? ( If I remember well, it's not possible )
2. For those who have already installed this firmware, is it working well or have you notived some issues ?
3. I'd really like to use the overlay pages. If I don't upgrade to firmware v7.4.22, is there a work around to have overlay pages ?

Best regards,

Christophe

I have upgraded my 9400 to 7.4 No problems, everything works perfect.
You need firmware 7.4 if you want to work with overlay pages.

You can downgrade the firmware to 7.3 (if you still have 7.3 as file).

I'm keeping all of my pronto remotes at the last production firmware. I've downloaded all the new firmware and PEP V3 in case I want to install at a later time. Everything in my setup has been very solid with the last firmware (and PEP V2), so I'm not going to do it now given what is happening to the pronto business. I know that many folks have upgraded with positive results. My .02c.... SJ

Does it work with PEP v1 and did they fix the self-awakening problem ? (which is why I am still on version 6)

I downloaded the latest firmware to my TSU9600 this past Saturday and I have noticed some very odd behaviour with my remote. On occasion some of the graphics on a given screen will not be displayed. Sometimes the text of my clock on my splash screen will have disappeared and usually it will reappear upon returning to this screen. On one occasion, when I used the firm key combination (Backlight, Menu, Firm 1) to jump to the calibration screen, the background appears white and the crosshairs that you must press to calibrate the screen are not there. When I exit this screen, I will have other parts of the graphics disappear. As for the remote waking up, I have found that this has occurred more frequently with the new beta firmware than the previous version. Finally, I have had the pickup sensor become active even though it is not selected in the remote settings. If I turn this function on and then off again, the issue will resolve... until it decides to override my setting again.

Wondering if anyone has experience any of these issues?

Wakeup appeared better for me. With regard to PEP1, the same issues you had with ProntoScript in hardkeys still exists with this release.

I can't get executeActions(); to work on the firm buttons still. It is a shame this was never fixed.

7.4.22 is not available from this site. It is Beta Firmware and only available from Philips site which requires special access. To use new capabilities of this firmware (Overlays and TSW9500) also requires PEP3.

See the sticky thread about gaining access to the firmware and PEP3 software by sending Daniel RC mail.

Wakeup better? As in still happening but not as often?

I did have wakeup Issue while unit sitting on desk undocked. I attributed it to network drop. Belgium scrubbed the code and could not find the cause. They did fix an issue where battery charge start/stop are battery level drop would cause wake-up.
