hi there,

my name is allen and I have been surfing this board for a while and love the vast amount of sources here and the natural vibe i get. everyone seems pretty friendly. nice to meet you all!.

I have recently purchased a TSU9200 used which comes with everything from the original box including the installation cd. i was wondering if there's anyway i can get updates and new softwares in the future if i ever need to upgrade because I don't think i can register with philips pronto on their website without a registration code from the place i bought it from? or that's what i get from their site.

any info would be great! thanks a lot!

tekstyle,

Check through the files section of this forum. Current software is available there. In general, it is a good idea to update the remote's firmware and the programming software as a unit. The latest software ususally requires the latest firmware.

buzz,

thanks for the quick response to my concern. I have already looked at the files section but it only contains PEP softwares, tsu9200 manuals, and a firmware update for the remote. what I think i need is the pronto configurator, a software to install into my PC so i can program the remote. I am not sure if there's even a new version of this software because I can't have access to the pronto site since I cant even register. i already tried and the activation link i received sent me to a page that no longer existed (another way pronto is trying to block off access to their updates when changing to the new site).

would it be hard for someone with access to download the file from the site and upload it to remotecentral's files section? i am not asking, just wondering.

thank you buzz

tekstyle,

There is no need for TSU9200 users to go to the Pronto site for updates. The mess associated with ProntoEdit Professional, does not apply to TSU9200 users.

The TSU9200 configuration program has not been updated in a while. As I recall there was a firmware update for the RFX9200 that is not posted here. It is a worthwhile update because the original release did not work very well. Perhaps one of the updates listed here also includes the RFX9200 firmware update. If you don't use the RFX9200, it does not matter.

You may have some luck going to [Link: 161.88.253.22]. Over there is Configurator v1.0.26, TSU9200 v2.0.30 firmware, and RFX9200 v3.0.14 firmware.

You will want the software and firmware from the link above. When that CD arrives, throw it in the trash.
