I tried installing my 8870 today, I got the 8811 protocall adapter wired in and installed but when I tried installing the T-Stat I could not get it to power up. I have 24 volts at the stat, I have the terminals wired correctly Red goes to RH with a jumper over to RC, white to white, yellow to yellow, green to green. The only other thing I could be missing is in the directions it says to jumper R to RC and C to... I guess back to the common terminal on the 24 volt powr supply??? Any thoughts???

Thanks Joe.

As I expected you also need 24 volts to terminal "R" and then "C" goes back to the common terminal of the 24 volt transformer. this is refered to as a "Five" wire thermostat. I will make those changes in the next day or two and post my findings as to the operation of the 9600 Aprilaire module.

Joe.

I finally got around to pulling the new five conductor t-stat wire into the attic and getting the 8870 wired correctly... She powered right up and responded imediatly to the 9600's commands. Very cool!!! I plan on purchasing another 9600 for my bedroom system where this feature will be very nice. I know it's kinda lazy but but hey I think it's pretty cool to be able to check / change the temp. without having to get out of bed!!!

Best Regards, Joe.
