I've got a special XCF Game coming along that should bring back many memories.

Please see the details of the download when it arrives.

My plan is to attempt to help others write ProntoScript by example by outlining key concepts with each download.

In the process, you will hopefully begin to understand JavaScript and the ProntoScript Javascript Object Model.

Oh, I can't wait. The past week or so I've been studying the modules that were released to get an idea of how things tick. Even though I was already pretty familiar with Javascript, it's taking me a while since there's no actual developer guide thats been released. Thanks for anything you would be able to share to help us learn this further.

For all you folks who may be low on memory, check out Galaxy 96 (ProntoScript Edition) and a new Pronto Pong Game. Thanks to Daniel Tonks for getting these files up so quickly.

Pronto Pong Tips by LP. :-)

1) For smoother control program the channel up and down buttons to move your paddle versus the directional pad. Using the channel buttons allows you to simply rock your thumb back and forth. The channel buttons also provide for better control. You can move the paddle much faster than you can with the directional pad.

2) For an added challenge increase the speed and difficulty of the game by editing the ProntoScript at the activity level via the Pronto Pong devices "Advanced" tab.

Great job on both games by the way Lyndel! I especially love the ProntoScript version of Galaxy 96.

By putting the logic for movement into the Pong Class itself and then just having the buttons call a function, it does indeed make it easier to choose for yourself which buttons you want to have control the paddle.

However, please note that the Pong script does a reference to PS_FIRM1 so as a result, if you want to move the new/quit game function to a different firmkey, you will need to also tweak the script.
