Performing a full firmware update may resolve your issue. You never know. Can't hurt to try it. It's not uncommon to have to reinstall the same firmware version per resolving certain issues. Perform the appropriate search here on the forums and you'll most certainly find many examples where reinstalling the firmware was needed per resolving a given issue. That being said, your issue could be hardware related and not with the software. Hopefully not, but quite possible. In that case, having your TSU9600 serviced would be the only option at that point. Of course, using the scroll wheel to activate the screen instead is certainly an easy enough workaround. That's all I use the scroll wheel for actually aside from the menu page of my DVD Juke activity. I was annoyed from the very beginning that moving the scroll would always force the screen to activate. If the given activity you are under does not address the scroll wheel I don't think it should activate the screen. Would have been nice if the scroll wheel was added to the screen activation options. Could have simply been included in the Cursor Keys group.
In fact, the "Home" hard button should have also been included in the Cursor Keys group per the screen activation options. This is the case with PPENG and the Pronto NG line of remotes. Not the case per PEP and the Pro line however. Pressing the "Home" hard button will always activate the screen. I find this particularly annoying, because I don't use the "Home" hard button go to my home page. I use the "Home" hard button for more commonly used functions while under a given activity as it is grouped next to the "Menu" button, "Guide" button and cursor pad. I find the "Power" hard button much more suited as a "Home" button. Irrespective of the screen activation options the screen will always activate if the press of a given hard button invokes a page navigation. That being the case, there is no reason to force the screen to activate when pressing the "Home" hard button. It should have been included in the Cursor Keys group as is the case with the Pronto NG line. The Prontoteam actually agreed with me on this point during the beta test for the TSU9600, unfortunately adding the "Home" hard button back to the Cursor Keys group for the screen activation options never happened. *Sigh*
