Hallo forum,

for me is not clear if it is an advantage to upgrade the firmware for TSU9600/RFX9400 to newest versions if the programming was done with PEP1 (e.g. V.1.1.20).

Has the firmware upgrade always to be done or do I have to look, what programming version is used on the Pronto devices?

Thank you in advance for your comments/experiences

I need to update PEP2 when updating firmware. So using PEP1 should be a no go.

Any ProntoScript contained on firm keys will not work if you are downloading to the remote via PEP v1 and your TSU9600 is running a firmware version higher than v7.1.21. Something to keep in mind. That being said, if your configuration file doesn't contain ProntoScript on the firm keys it certainly wouldn't hurt to run the latest remote and extender firmware. I wouldn't anticipate you'd encounter any issues. If you do you can always revert back to an earlier firmware release. Of course you could also simply open your PEP v1 XCF in PEP v2 temporarily just to download to the remote. Just make sure your PEP v1 XCF doesn't contain any IR codes learned to buttons. PEP v2 only supports database codes. You'll also want to be sure once opening your PEP v1 XCF in PEP v2 that each of your project components in PEP v2 are set to use the appropriate extender and IR port if you are using extenders.

Here is trail of links discussing this.

As referenced in the latest firmware thread back to the original PEPV2 thread.

Thank you for the contributions.

PEP1 programming (made with V1.1.20):
Highest firmware versions for
TSU9600 = 7.1.21
RFX9400 = 1.3.8

Is this correct for RFX9400 also?

I use PEP v1.1.20 exclusively and am running TSU firmware 7.1.21 and RFX firmware 1.3.8, well that's the latest extender firmware I have downloaded anyway. I can confirm later today just to be sure and report back.

Yes, that is indeed the latest version that does not have the issue. I am running 2 RFX9600's with latest extender firmware and one TSU9600 with latest firmware (bedroom with config imported to PEPv2) and one with 7.1.21 firmware (living room with config remaining in PEPv1).
