Hi Barry,

I just bought the Xtreamer Ultra - www.xtreamer.net, and it is everything they promise.

Also I found that you had developed an interface for the TSU9600 to this.

I have everything up and working on my TSU9600, except when I press letters on the keyboard, the communications goes OK, but no letters appears on the Xtremer XBMC. Strange thing is that the backspace and other keyes works, but simply not the letters and digits.

The response I get on letters are excatly the same as for the keys, and it stops with the log information INFO: XBMCAnalysis of HTTP: XBMC status = OK.

I simply do not understand why I do not get letters on my screen

Can you help?

Best regards,
Per

I haven't been doing much with my Pronto's lately (they all work so well!!); ergo I only check this BBS about once per week. If you look at the prontoscript in the library module for xbmc you should see how you can turn on more debugging to see what is actually sent and what really comes back. You can then run it in the simulator (I think, never tried) or just use the debug command (IIRC DiagMsg "Any String of Text") and that will send it to the Diagnostic log on the Pronto. By looking at the messages you should be able to discover what is going on.

Even easier, I just looked at the XBMC library module. In the settings page of the library module there are items called Trace and Debug. Set them True and the information (plus lots more) should go to the diagnostic log.

I do not encode or obfuscate the modules I build as I prefer people to be able to learn from them. If you are still having issues let me know.

Right now I do not use XBMC in my theater but rather have my own librarian modeled after the Kalaidescape system, and a Dune Player to play the selected film.

Thanks Barry,

I have now been testing and looking at all debugging. It apears that the module works perfect, as the communication also indicates.

I have narrowed it down to the following.

When using the keyboard when eg. showing the main menu, and pressing s, it immediately goes to the shutdown selection menu, so it recognice the s.

The problem starts when eg. in the Film menu I go down to the search and press enter - It shifts to the alphanumeric input screen, but from then it gives the 5 seconds timeout no matter what button I press.

If I instead use the other remote to press enter, I again goes to the alphanumeric input screen, and now I can use the up, down, left and right keys, the escape key the enter key for getting the letter from the screen to the input area. Pressing eg backspace works, but pressing any alphanumeric key, gives no result on the screen, but the communitation goes perfectly OK. It looks like the XBMC ignores the key input when this search feature is on.

It is of cause not a showstopper, but it anoyes me that I can not see what the problem should be. Also I do not understand why everything bloks, if I use the OK button to go to the search area, but not if I use another remote to go there, and then press the keys.

Does it make any sense what I am writing, I hope so.

I suspect that most of the issues are XBMC related. As I stated before I am no longer using XBMC as I have just what I want with a Dune player and my own librarian.

Although I did write a version of the Librarian for the Pronto, I never released it. The librarian in my theater is very much like the librarian that Kalaidescape wrote and runs on a small Asrock PC in the theater. I am not intending to release it at this time.
