Is it possible for the TSU9400 to send a command to a RFX9400 which will then open a TCP connection to a server over Ethernet?

Heres the coding but the server never see the connection request.

var socket = new TCPSocket(false);
socket.connect('10.2.0.117', 8080, 3000);
socket.write("COMMAND01\n");
socket.close();

The server can ping the RFX9400 so it must be set up correctly

Cheers

I think im correct in saying that the RFX9400 is not an access point, so you would have to go via an access point not an RFX 9400
Pronto still one of the best Wi-Fi Remotes,

What gopronto is basically saying you don't open a socket to the RFX in order to communicate with other devices over TCP.

You have to make a socket directly with the desired device so TSU -> TCP/IP -> Server.

The RFX is just an extender, you can call it IP to IR & RS-232 device.

Dev Guide has an example of connecting via HTTP to google or yahoo, I forget which, and sending an HTTP GET request using TCP/IP socket.

Hi, thanxs for that, I was hoping to avoid that method as it seems that the TSU9400 only supports WEP and our WIFI network is WPA2.

What is the purpose of the Ethernet port on the RFX9400 in Use mode (position 1)

9400 supports WPA2 if you are using latest firmware and latest PEPV2 editor vs the Pronto Configurator that came on the CD with the remote. All the stuff you need can be found on the Philips site or in Files Section here. In fact, there's a thread discussing latest firmware and editor on page 1 or page 2 of this forum as I write this.

The extender can be connected to a Wired network and used in what is known as Network mode vs Standalone mode. Searches for "Network Mode" and "Standalone Mode" should provide more info. Also, you can refer to the manual that came with the Extender as this is discussed there as well.

Welcome to the Pronto Addiction!!!

The latest firmware is already on. I'll have a look at PEPV2 again, I think the last time I used PEPV2 from PEPV1 the "link" part of each button macro disappeared

is there an easy way to migrate from PEPV1 to PEPV2

I've added the Devices to My database and then backed it up in PEPV1
I've imported the Database in PEPV2 and currently adding each IR code back to the button, this is taking a long time, is there a quicker way?

I cant find the link option so do I just added each step again?

If you have all IR codes are in database in your PEPV1 config, simply load your PEPV1 config into PEPV2 then save as a different name. You will find that that is ALL you have to do as during file load, PEPV2 wil grab codes from your config and create components for the equipment. You don't have to import your PEPV1 database into PEPV2 and add codes back.

In latest PEPV2, you will likely rework your old links/macros to macros under the Common Macros activity/placeholder (Located just under Home). To do the rework, you select multiple actions from an existing action list that needs to be broken apart and then copy/paste them into a new Macro underneath a Macro Category which you create.

Note that if you don't do the rework step, all should continue to work.

FYI, my configs are in PEPV1 with codes in MyDatabase such that at any point, I can load them into PEPV2 with no issues.
