Avtech,

I posted about not supplying my software as I've received several private email requests already and am not in a position to support my home-brew product on anyone's machines other than my own at this time.

Hope I did not offend. As far as MCE integration goes, I agree that Philips could work toward this in the future. They did not, however, state support for anything other than the Escient Fireballs in any of their documentation. I did get lucky and get my media server working with the TSU9600.

If MCE is that important to you (not so important to me as I don't consider MCE as part of a mid to high end system), maybe you should email philips - prontoteam at philips dot com.

I am almost done writing an app that allows my TSU-9600
control Windows Media Player and its Music Library; the
app acts as a "middle man" (following the escient protocol
specification) between the TSU-9600 and Windows Media
Player - perfect.

The app even has a built in HTTP server so that the Pronto
can ask for Cover Art and the app will extract it from
the MP3 files.

This is exciting news regarding your writing of an app that will allow the TSU9600 to control Windows Media Player and its Music Library, including support for cover art. As for the cover art support, my cover art is in the form of "folder.jpg" files. I have one "folder.jpg" file in each folder containing an albums worth of mp3's or wma's files. Will the application you are writing work with my cover art?

LP,

This will have to be built into the program. The way that Windows Media and Escients get coverart is by having it embedded in WMA or MP3 files. Waza would have to write his program specifically to support your needs. I just went through a retagging exercise for all my MP3s and used a program named MP3Tag which is absolutely wonderful. If you already have a library of music, you can inject your coverart (folder.jpg) into all the files with an automated action. If you want more info, give me a call. I'm on vacation @ home all this week.

As Lyndel says, it gets the cover art from the images embedded in the audio file.
