Hi all,
I have recently installed a fresh version of Windows 7 Ultimate in my PC.
And installed PEP2 latest version (2.4.18.0).

But my Pronto TSU9600 is not recognized at all.
When I plug the USB into the Pronto, the automatic installation of the device fails.

Inside "Device Manager" I have the Pronto TSU9600 listed under "Disk Drives" saying that the device has not been installed properly.

I have tried several times but could not have it working.

Any idea?

Thanks

Did you install it as is or did you check the XP compatability option?
May the pronto be with you

Have installed PEP2 on Windows 7 32bit and 64bit with no problems, it seems to work fine if your hardware is on the HCL , otherwise just dont try it, unless you have a lot of time to spare.

I have seen laptops with the "Designed for Windows 7" sticker on them and these work ok, but other that have the "Windows 7 Compilant" dont always work.

Im guessing its a hardware issue you have , check if it is on the HCL on the windows website.

@ gbk33,
I did not check the compatibility option.
But PEP works fine, the problem is that the Pronto is not recognized as a HID device but as a disk drive.

@gopronto,
my PC is self made. I checked my motherboard specs (Gigabyte) and it says that it's compliant.
But again, PEP works fine, it's the Pronto device that it's not recognized.

Any other idea?

@gopronto:
Did you have problems with PEP2 or with the device driver installation?
I mean, the problem was that PEP2 wasn't working or that the TSU9600 was not recognized?

I have the same issue with my laptop which is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. In my case I had a 4-port powered USB hub connected to the laptop. Connected to the USB hub was a keyboard, mouse, portable hard drive, and a broadband dongle. I was connecting the TSU9600 to one of the other available USB ports on the laptop and finding that I could not download to the remote from PEP v1. The remote was being detected as a disk drive, not a HID device. While I haven't taken the time to investigate the issue in depth I can tell you that as long as the remote is the only device connected to my laptop via USB it is detected properly. I'm then able to successfully download to the remote via PEP v1.

In my case the TSU9600 is connected directly to the USB without any hub in the middle.
I have tried to disconnect all the other devices and leave only the TSU9600, but the problem is the same.

Is there any way to install manually the driver? Or to update the driver?
Where is the driver itself located?

thanks

For further clarificiation....
I was connecting my TSU9600 directly to the laptop, not via the USB hub. Disconnecting the USB hub and having only the remote connected to the laptop via USB was what resolved the issue for me. When time permits I'm going to troubleshoot the issue further. Easy enough work around for now. Simply ensuring no other USB devices are connected to the laptop aside from the remote and I'm set to go.

Perform a forum search for "HID" and you'll find numerous posts regarding HID related issues.

Have you tried the Pronto key combination "Home & Menu & Page+"?
This has always fixed the HID and remote not found errors for me.

I had the same problem. Strangely, it worked in XP virtualization mode, but not natively in Windows 7. It turned out to be my Logitech keyboard. Once I figured out which of the many HID's (installed by Logitech) caused the conflict, my problem was resolved.

What I do now: each time I want to download a new or updated config, I go into the device manager, disable the culprit HID, start PEP, plug in my TSU9600 and download the config. I then re-enable the HID.

Not the perfect solution, but it works.

If you are using a wireless usb you will have to disconnect that and then click the download button on the PEP 2 then it should work. On my Windows 7 i have a usb Keyboard and mouse what i do is us the mouse and i click on the download and hold it at the same time i unplug and let go of the button and if you get it right i will download to your TSU, or i sometimes put in my other usb mouse and then click it to download and that works. Problem is with the usb keyboard and mouse they use the same HID device. I can talk like the Phillips guy to the T, but this is what they said. If that is the problem for you. i hope this helps
