I have not experienced any issues with WAP54G hardware version 1.2 using WEP128.

At home I have 2 WAP54G v3.1, a WRT54GL v1.1, and a WRT150N v1.0. I wasn't aware WAP54G had a v1.2 - I was looking on DD-WRT website and they had v1.0, v1.1, v2.0, v3.0 and v3.1 as the only versions that were available.

All the Linksys routers and wireless access points are running DD-WRT (the latest version that works on each device - obviously different versions). The WRT150N is rock solid - no problems at all. The WAP54G devices are both problematic, but nowhere near as problematic as they were on the Linksys v3.04.03 firmware (which is the latest, but wasn't updated since 2008).

Lyndel - what firmware do you run on your WAP54G?

Interestingly, prior to the Dec 09 firmware on the TSU9600 and RFX9400, my Pronto was rock solid on a WAP54G running 3.04.03 linksys firmware. It is only since I updated to the Dec 09 firmware have I started having such big problems. Obviously Philips did a lot of work on the network stack in that update since it was the update that including WPA support. I have tried all combinations of encryptions and no encryptions and it was only the DD-WRT firmware that finally got things remotely stable.

Aslan, I assume you don't mean you have been running WPA on the WAP54G with Pronto devices for a few years since, as far as I am aware, WPA support only came in with the Dec 09 firmware - of course I may be mistaken, and I'm happy to be corrected.

Could I ask though, what firmware have you been running on the WAP54G? Also, what firmware did you run on the Pronto. As I've said elsewhere in the thread. I only started getting major issues when I update the Pronto to the Dec 09 firmware release. Prior to that the combination of Pronto and WAP54G was rock solid. Have you been running WAP54Gs since updating the Pronto firmware on or after Dec 09?

Yes, that's what I meant by 'sometimes on WPA'!
I haven't had the chance to check the WAP firmware - will at the weekend if possible. Pronto / extender firmware I keep up to date with every update.

Just curious.

What was the fixed IP address of the RFX9400 and was this address in the DHCP range of the router? Is there a chance you were having an IP address conflict with another device on the network?

It was out the iprange of the DHCP. 192.168.1.80 and the 9600 was .79

My DHCP range is 100-200.

Changed the 9400 to dhcp and wammo!
