A bit of an Update the Volume ramping up to max , seem to be caused by not using the correct firmware and software.

Philips tend to release them in pairs " firmware & Software" the Volume ramping in our case we had here was not a "released Pair" once the firmware and software were back in Sync, all was good . :)

I'm on the latest firmware (on everything) and have this problem. SJ

I have also had this problem a few times over the last couple of months. I was using a TSU9600 with firmware 7.1.21 and the RFX9600 firmware released at the same time, plus PEP 2.3.17. I was hoping that the latest firmware updates would cure it.

Rebooting either the TSU or RFX seems to be a temporary fix.

Philips really need to treat fixing this as a top priority. Presumably they are legally liable where it causes damage to speakers.

Add me to the list. I have the latest PEP and firmware on my extenders. I am running into this fairly often, and not just on volume. I have gotten it on a fast forward button for a Tivo.

I have been running my two RFX9400 extenders in Stand-alone mode for the past several weeks versus Network mode to see if that made a difference. It has dramatically. Have only received the message a couple times and when I did pressing OK to the message provided for an immediate recovery. When running the extenders in Network mode I was getting this message constantly and pressing OK would simply result in the message immediately coming back up. 99% of the time I'd have to reset the remote to recover.

After updating the firmware of 3 of our customers because philips said it was a firmware/software combination problem, we still have this problem several times a week with:

Remote firmware : 7_2_22
Extender firmware: 1_4_5
PEP 2.4.18.0

i've read it is the IR codes that are locking the extender. what Amps/AV receviers are you guys using that have problems. i use marantz SR.... Receivers.

Happens on both my TSU9400 and TSU9800. The TSU9400 (via a RFX9400 IR) is controlling a Sunfire TGIV preamp. The TSU9800 (via a RXf9600 RS232) is controlling a Denon AVP processor. Actually hasn't been a problem within the last few weeks and I've not changed anything..... SJ

Hi, i have a similar problem but origin is different :-

I had two TSU 9600 with 2 wirless extenders and 1 serial extender all of which i bought 2 years back and programed them my self and they were working fine.

I have programed IR mouse and keyboard for my WINDOWS PC/MEDIA CENTRE thru wirless extender on the TSU 9600 with up-down-left-right cursor keys inside the rotary wheel to move the mouse.

Recently aquired a 3rd new TSU 9600 (the only diffrence the rotary wheel is more updated less round shape flatter) and uploaded the same file as being used in old TSU 9600.

Both the old TSU work fine but the new one is very erratic, it gives command failed error and does not respond, specailly when i use the cursor keys to control mouse it does not repsond says "COMMANS FAILED" and the other TSU 9600 unit also stop responding....with error "SYSTEM IN USE BY ANOHER USER"

I never faced this problme betwene my old TSU except when both were being used at same time, which is hardly ever, i checked IP all 3 have diffrent ips and no ip clash.

Does anyone know if the new TSU 9600 with new design rotary wheel is diffrent on respnse do i have to change in program file ? does rotary wheel have more functionatlity or is change only for asthetics.

I am useing Pronto profesional ver 1.1.20 and did not update is as new looks very diffiuclt and i am use to teh old editor.
Do i have to program the new TSU with new editor versions ?

Pls. help as 3rd pronto i bought for my bed room and now cant use it.

philips pls. help....sad i was so happy with TSU 9600 for past 2 years nad buy a 3rd one and now i am frustarted.

i am useing on TSU 9600 7.2.22 on all 3 TSU 9600 v2.2 but boot loader is differnt 2 old TSU 9600 have bootloader 1.2.8 where as new one has BFU1.6.17
va/..

What version of firmware is on all your extenders?

What is the application version (not BootLoader) firmware on all your remotes?

Dear RC users,

Philips is very concerned about the quality of our entire Pronto range and we try to follow up as much as possible also here on the threads on Remote Central.
We are currently following up on this issue and trying to collect as much as valuable data in order to come to a reproduction scenario.
Therefore we are interested in the following data:
1. Configuration file
2. Type of device and Firmware versions of al components involved, i.e. Pronto's, extenders, routers etc.
3. How long does the IR continuation approximately last?
4. Occurrence of the issue
5. Relevant messages in diagnostics log, i.e. those related to the issue
6. Is there ProntoScript involved? i.e. does the issue occur when a PS module is active or is there possibly PS running in the background. Or is the action initiated by a PS?
7. Does the issue always occur with hard buttons or also with soft buttons?

We would like to apologize fo the inconvenience this issue might have caused and kindly request to mail your findings towards the Prontoteam so that we can work on the issue in order to come with an adequate solution as soon as possible.

Kind regards,
The Prontoteam
