I currently have a TSU 7000. I need a second Pronto remote for another room (I actually have an old TSU 3000 whose LCD stopped responding, which may be salvageable as discusssed in another thread). Anyway, I need a second remote for another room. I'm debating between a TSU 7500 versus a 9600. The advantage of the TSU 7500 is minimal programming would be needed, while a 9600 would require lots more work.

Anyway, aside from the programming, one possible disadvantage is that it looks like the 9600 requires two hands to operate. Note sure how to start an actual poll here with selectable buttons (like in other forums), but here goes. What do you think of the 9600's size, in terms of operability with one versus two hands? Which do you feel:

1. It requires 2 hands, but no big deal for me.

2. I really wish it only needed one hand to use, like the TSU 7500.

3. It requires 2 hands to use, and is a pain that way.

4. Other comments?

Thanks.

It is roughly the same size as your 7500. It is just as easy (or hard) to operate with one hand as it is to operate a 7500 with one hand.

According to Philip's brochure, the 9600's dimensions are: (WxDxH) inch: 6.2 x 3.9
x 1.3.

The 7500's dimensions are: (WxDxH) inch: 3.6" x 1.1" x 6.0".

So, it seems that the 9600 is about the same size (just a tad larger) as the 7500, but it's more horizontal (wider) than it is vertical (taller). Glad to hear that other folks (at least based on the responses so far) don't seem to mind its dimensions. Just makes it harder for me to resist the 9600....

Thanks.

I have a TSU6000 and TSU7000 (very similar to the 7500) and now own a TSU9600. I actually use the 9600 in it's cradle on a table, without picking it up. The upright position makes the screen very easy to read. When I do occasionally pick it up, I find it very comfortable to hold.

While your question is not asking about the ease of use, I think a comment is warranted. The 9600 is, in my opinion, much, much better than the old style. I am just about to buy a second 9600 to replace a working 7000, just because it is so much better.
