My recommendation - You should consider ebaying that remote and purchasing a TSU9600.

Just curious, why do you make that recommendation?

Because the remote has been discontinued. Marantz is NO LONGER selling this remote so therefore, any firmware advancements (like are coming to the Philips TSU line) will not likely be delivered on the Marantz platform.

Therefore, users with this remote will likely be stuck with the last released version of the firmware available from Marantz and ONLY the features that it contains.

I will be VERY surprised to see future firmware updates for the RC9001 platform.
